North East CHH Creatives Gathering

First and foremost, thank you for expressing interest in my CHH get together/meetup/conference. It was just a thought that I had and the response has been overwhelming.

I’m always trying to push the culture in the North East. It’s tough up here. I feel like it would do some good for all creatives, rappers, producers, labels, videographers, managers, businesses affiliated with Christian Hip-Hop, etc, to meet and discuss ways to advance the kingdom, culture, and livelihoods of everyone in it. It’ll be time for collaboration, partnerships, introductions, and problem-solving.

I live in Staten Island, NY. It’s about an hour to 45 minutes from the rest of NYC, depending on parts of NJ anywhere from 5 min to an hour, Connecticut and upstate NY 2 to 4 hours, and Pennsylvania 1.5 to 3 hours away. It’s a good central hub to do this, plus I have a venue that’s free to use. I am friends with the owner of a Mexican restaurant. He has a small hall above his restaurant to rent out for parties and events. I recently started working with him to bring more business in, and just threw my first concert there with my band. He lets me use the venue for free whenever I want as long as people are in there buying his food.

So, if this event were to go down, here’s how I think it would run the smoothest.

The event can run all day, from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. We can have the restaurant cater the event for both lunch and dinner. I figure $30 a person should cover the two meals buffet style. We can have a taco & burrito bar, rice & beans, pork, chicken, salads, w.e. They have a ton of amazing food.

The one problem is that the room has a max capacity of 50–60 people if there are tables and chairs set up. Without tables, we can squeeze 70–80, but we also have access to the downstairs to eat. For this reason, I need to make this event by reservation. If I get the 50 to 60 people, awesome. If it’s looking like 70 to 80, we can have the entire restaurant booked to ourselves.

Here’s a grand goal: if it looks like we’re going to get more, we can turn this thing into a small conference and I know of a church that we can vent for $500 that holds 200 people in their smaller room. At that point, I’d have to bump the price up to $45 a person, and maybe we can get a relevant guest speaker, and maybe pay some people to perform. It could be a legit conference!

So that’s it, what do you think? Thoughts, feedback, who’s 100% interested? If this seems like a go, I’ll create a registration link to sign and preorder your spot. Please comment below if you’re in!
