Rapzilla.com Continue the Legacy
Rapzilla is gearing up to celebrate our 20-year anniversary in January, and what should stand as a landmark time, especially coming after Christmas, is actually a bittersweet and frustrating time for us. As you may have noticed, the Rapzilla website has not been functional for the last few months. We’ve been experiencing major issues going back to the summer between being hacked, crashing, and working with developers who were paid, and not able to get the job done.
To put it bluntly, we are in a financial crisis that could ultimately prove to be the end of Rapzilla. Here are the numbers, we’ve thus far spent $6,000 on people who couldn’t resolve the issues. It’ll be at least another $6,000 to restore the site and get it to a healthy place by a team we know can get the job done. We have also accumulated some debt because we have not really been able to monetize the website in four months.
Through it all, we have been able to faithfully pay the staff, pay for commitments, and even invest in the Rapzilla Freshmen at Flavor Fest. Unfortunately, we can’t take it any further.
In the 20 years, Rapzilla.com has existed, we’ve never asked our audience to pay to read our site. We’ve never solicited donations and never taken investments. We’ve just always tried our best to deliver the best new and up-and-coming Christian Hip-Hop.
